Breakdown 3 – Flat Tyre

Posted by Andrew

During an extensive testing session we managed to get a puncture…. and guess what – no spare. We limped it to the garage where we upped it from 5 Psi to 30 to get us home. A few phone calls later and John kindly donated us a wheel with tyre to get us back on the road!!

Breakdown 2 – loss of power

Posted by Andrew

Driving up Telegraph Hill, Chris lost a lot of power.  The only way to drive was to have choke out and ‘limp home’ at about 30mph!  It felt like the carb was either getting starved of fuel or too much.  Dismantled and cleaned carburettor which seems to have resolved this issue… watch this space!

MacGyver Repair of clutch

Posted by Andrew

Following clutch beakdown – we identified the fault as a broken plastic clutch cable to pedal connector.  We fabricated a new one from some thread-bar, a bit of drilling (snapped 3 drill bits!) and a hell of a lot of angle grinding!   That bugger won’t snap again now!!
