Last bits of Mechanical Work!

Posted by Chris

Well, it’s getting closer and closer to the leaving date so we are starting to get a bit nervous now!  In true male spirit, that means rather than planning the essential things we need to, we’ll just do some more work on the car instead!

This weekend (31/10) we are fitting a new water pump and replacing the cam belt – anyone want to help?

Next weekend (7/11) we are meeting up with all the other ‘competitors’ for a few beers and a bite to eat in Bristol, before heading off to Reading on Sunday morning to fit a new clutch and fit a new pair of CV boots thanks to Mercedes-Benz Reading.  It will quite likely be the cheapest car they have ever had through their garage – but we appreciate them letting us use their ramps, tools and of course Gary – cheers fella!

Brake Lines – UPGRADE

Posted by Chris

001We’ve been contacted by www.brake-lines.co.uk who have offered us some upgraded brake lines for the car.  These are going to be excellent for the journey, cos we were worried about the lines to the back wheels breaking.  Last thing we want to do is to lose all of our brake fluid so we had entertained the idea of disconnecting the rear brakes when the going started to get tough, but now we can have confidence that they will be fine!

Thanks guys, we really appreciate your support with this.  More info on www.brake-lines.co.uk can be seen on our SPONSORS page.

Signwriting…. DONE

Posted by Chris

Well, one of the suggestions from people who have done this before is to be as subtle as possible when going through some countries.  This is as subtle as we get!

Thanks to Signs Express in Plymouth for doing the work, and for Luke & Tom for putting together the designs for us.  Really appreciate it so thanks again to you both.

Press Coverage Starts – Unexpectidly!

Posted by Chris

Well, we were trying to keep it a secret for a bit longer but the signwriting is now complete!  Keen paparazzi from the website thisisntexeter.co.uk managed to sneak in the world first photo of the new car designs before all others!  We’re not too sure where they got this snap, but we only picked the car up 24 hours ago!

Read their article about us here: http://www.thisisntexeter.co.uk/site/local/469 along with loads of other funny stories from the Exeter area.  Well done chaps!  Send us a sticker and we’ll get you added to the car!
